End of Course Exams
End of Course Exams
Starting with the class of 2018, students will need to earn 18 points from the following 7 End of Course Exams:
- English I and English II - 4 points minimum
- Algebra I and Geometry - 4 points minimum
- Biology, US History, and Government - 6 points.
- An additional 4 points must be earned from any of the tests.
How are the test scored?
The tests are scored on a scale of 1 - 5.
1 - Limited
2 - Basic
3 - Proficient
4 - Advanced
5 - Accelerated
We would like to see students earn a score of 3(Proficient) on all the tests.
The End of Course Exams are more flexible than the OGT, because students due not have to earn a 3(Proficient) on all exams. There is flexibility for students to meet graduation points requirement. For example, if a student is stronger in English than in Math, the student can earn the extra needed points in English in order to meet the minimum of 18 points.
If you would like to check where your child is with graduation points, or if you have any questions regarding the new assessment, please contact your child's school counselor.
