Meet the Department
School Counselors:
Mrs. Nicole Kray (Last Names A - L)
Mrs. Kray is originally from Alliance, Ohio where she was a graduate of Marlington High School. In 2001 she graduated from Mount Union College, where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Education. Her first 8 years of teaching was with the Conneaut Local School District where she taught 7th-8th grade reading and language arts. During this time she received her Masters from Marygrove College in the Art of Education. Being in the classroom as a part of the Buckeye Local Schools since 2009 has taught her so much about how students grow and develop, but her true passion was counseling students and working with their overall well-being. Over the last 3 years she has been working on her 2nd degree from Walden University, and will be completed with this degree in the fall of 2024. She looks forward to working with the students of Edgewood High School, and continuing to get students on track with their future goals and endeavors.
Mrs. Sarah Izzi (Last Names M - Z)
Mrs. Izzi is originally from Ashtabula and has worked in education for the last 18 years. A 2001 graduate of Harbor High School, Mrs. Izzi went on to the University of Akron, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She spent 5 years teaching 11th grade U.S. History at Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. During this time, she also attended the University of Phoenix and earned a Master of Science degree in School Counseling. Although she loved being in the classroom, her passion was helping students through a counseling role. In 2011, she moved back to Ohio and began her work as a high school counselor, first at Lakeside High School in Ashtabula (2011-2016) and then at Copley High School in Akron (2016-2019). She has been a high school counselor for 13 years and is excited to be back in Ashtabula as part of the Warrior family.
School Counseling Department Secretary
Mrs. Marie Rapose
Mrs. Rapose was born and raised in Ashtabula. She attended Harbor High School and went to the Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School (now A-Tech) where she studied Intense Office Education. It was there that she fell in love with this occupation. Starting in a law office and eventually entering the Ashtabula Area City School system, she worked at West Junior High School for 12 years prior to the AACS consolidation. After taking a few years off to help care for her father-in-law, she decided to re-enter the work force and landed a part-time job at Kingsville Elementary. After working there for two years, she began working at Edgewood High School and has been here ever since. She loves what she does for the school system and especially for the students here at Edgewood High School.
